· Worked in the Edmonton Public Schools (Canada) as a classroom teacher and then a teacher-librarian for almost 20 years
· For the past 20 years, Dr. Oberg has taught at the University of Alberton in Canada advocating for school library media
· Currently, Professor and Chair of the Department of Elementary of Education
· Team leader for the Teacher-Librarianship by Distance Learning Program
· Established a yearly endowment awarded to a teacher-librarian
· Served as president of the Learning Resources Council of the Alberta Teachers’ Association and Canadian School Library Association
· Editor of School Libraries Worldwide
· Stayed in education due to her father’s encouragement while earning her first degree
